Temporary strainers are developed for temporary or brief periods of service, e.g. during setting up and initial start-up of new or refurbished process lines to eliminate any coarse material, such as rags, welding rods, pipe scales, rust, etc., unintentionally or unavoidably present inside the pipelines. Temporary strainers in a pipeline system are simple to install and remove between two flanges.
A perforated plate and welded collar make up Temporary Strainers. The collar is used to secure the strainer in the conduit between two flanges. The medium should flow from the outside to the inside. A permanent pipeline strainer of finer preservation is typically replaced after a nominal period of operation.
